Parker neem is an oil-based botanical pesticide consisting of neem oil. Bio-active components of neem eg. Azadirachtin, salannin, gedunin, nimbin, meliantriol etc have been reported to possess anti-feedant, growth disruption and repellant activities in insects. Most of these compounds are independently active and demonstrate additive effect when present in the same formulation.
Parker neem acts in different ways to protect the crop from insect pests as under:
(1) antifeedant and repellent;
(2) naturally occuring insect growth regulator (igr) and
(3) oviposition deterrant.
