Description
Anaerobic are acrylic based adhesives which when applied on metal-surface close-fits and upon isolation from air, cure to form a bond.
Applications
The unique property of anaerobic curing make it suitable for closely-fitting metal parts and machinery parts such as thread locking, thread sealing, pipe sealing, bearing retaining, flange sealing etc. Notable applications include, thread locking in railway track nut & bolt joints, bearings in motors, engine gaskets for both petrol and diesel engines.
Curing Mechanism
In presence of metal and in the absence of air (particularly oxygen), polymerisation is initiated and a strong bond is formed.
Provided product types
One component liquid system
One component viscous / paste system (liquid gasket)
One component low viscosity porosity sealant
Packing, storing, shelf life and transport
Available packing sizes vary from 5 ml to 250 ml, packed in LDPE bottle and tubes. Store products at room temperature; shelf life can vary from 6 - 18 months. They are safe to transport by road, air and sea.
Definition
Single component alkyl cyanoacrylate based solvent free rapid setting adhesives for bonding similar and dissimilar materials.
Applications
Bonding of elastomeric and plastic substrates.
Curing Mechanism
Cyanoacrylates bonds in the presence of moisture to form an acrylic material which has very good tensile strength.
Provided product types
Single component cyanoacrylates
Packing, storing, shelf life and transport
Cyanoacrylates are packed in 2g, 4g, 20g and 500g in plastic containers. Store the products at or below 5 C. Shelf life: Six to twelve months.
Definition
Silicones are synthetic polymer containing alternate silicone and oxygen atoms as its backbone. Silicones are made from silicon (a metal obtained from silica sand) and methyl chloride (an organic compound) in a process known as the direct process. The Silicone sealant in the uncured state normally looks like a thick paste or cream. After curing the paste turns into an impressive rubber.
Applications
Silicone sealant are used as a form-in-place gaskets for engine & transmission applications, sealing of exterior joints, aquarium joints bonding, sealing of bath tubs, construction and glazing application, electrical potting & encapsulation, mould making, etc.
Curing Mechanism
RTV silicone systems use humidity or moisture in the air during curing and cannot be accelerated using heat (excessive heat in the curing process can be detrimental). Small amounts of by-product are also produced. The cure process will only take place if the material is open to the atmosphere and curing will be adversely affected if access to humidity is removed prior to the completion of the cure process.
Provided product types
One component RTV silicone sealant
Two component RTV silicone sealant
Packing, storing, shelf life and transport
Available packing sizes vary from 25 g to 25 kg, packed in lacquered coated aluminium tubes, HDPE cartridges and epoxy coated MS drums. Store products at room temperature (20C to 35C). Shelf life can vary from 4 - 12 months. They are safe to transport by road, air and sea.
