Properties: nh4scn, a colorless crystalline solid that is soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, pyridine, acetone & ammonia and insoluble in ethyl acetate, methyl chloride and chloroform; melts at 149.6f¦; thermal decompositionat 170f¦ may produce highly toxic fumes of hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulfide and toxic oxides of nitrogen, sulfur, and carbon.

Synonyms: sodium hydrogen sulphide, sodium hydrogen sulfide, sodium sulfhydrate, sodium bisulphide.
Properties:white needle system crystal, easily being deliquescent, soluble in water and alcohol, water solution with strong alkaline. Reacted with acids and liberates hydrogen sulfide. Industrial grade is generally in solution form with pale yellow color, slight rotten egg smell.
