Borosilicate tubular gage glass is designed with a red line between two white lines. The color contrast makes it easier to read the liquid level. This is achieved by the application of specially developed paints that are bonded to the glass without etching.
Material: Standard borosilicate glass 3.3
Diameters range from 1/2" OD to 1" OD
General Application: Tanks, reservoirs, low pressure boilers.
Ends Finish:may be cut, ground, or fire polished depending on application.
Pressure ratings range:from 90 PSI to 600 PSI depending on end finish, diameter, and length required.
Reflex gauge glass is used to read the medium level in the boiler or other tanks. The one side of the glass which is exposed to the medium has a prismatic surface and another side is smooth. The medium level inside the level gauge is indicated as the result of the light refraction principle, since the liquid filled area completely absorbs the rays of light and appears dark, whereas the rays of light are totally reflected in the gas/air filled area which appears bright.
Reflex gauge glass is made from high borosilicte glass. It has many advantages, such as cheap, low maintenance cost, easy level reading and excellent high temperature & pressure resistance. Its working pressure can be up to 4 MPa and working temperature can be up to 430 C. The edge can be polished or frosted.
Transparent glasses are also manufactured from extra-hard borosilicate glass. The surfaces on both sides are finely smooth and ensure optimal transparency.
Now we have two kinds manufacturing technique:
1.One is as same with reflex gauge glasses, use molds to make the semi-finished products, afterwards, ground and polish the two side to ensure optimal transparency. By this manufacturing technique, the definition isnt good.
2.The other manufacturing technique is: At first, we manufacture 17mm thickness glass sheet, then cut the glass sheet according the detailed size and polish the side face for the smooth. This manufacturing technique glass is very clear, but the goods cost is higher.
It can be used with all media except steam at service conditions up to 6MPa and temperatures up to 260 °C.
