Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) is silicone rubber made from a liquid compound. This liquid compound mainly consists of silicone polymer and fumed silica, which are well known for being non-toxic and temperature resistant.
The molding process can be injection, pouring, brushing, dip-coating, etc.
Main applications include:
Baby products: Baby nipple, especially for those requiring high biting force; breast pump, etc.
Medical products: Laryngeal mask, catheter and negative pressure drainage ball.
Kitchen products: bake ware, silicone scoop, etc.
Industry product:: Key button, sealing rings and small parts.
Electric product: cable joint, insulator, etc.
Silicone over-molding product: Plastic stick with silicone rubber, with or without primer.
A long chain silicone gum with controlled vinyl level is combined with fumed, precipitated silica as reinforcing filler along with various other materials and additives to create special properties.
Once you cure the compounds at high temperature (100~200 ºC) after mixing with catalysts it becomes HTV silicone rubber.
The molding process can be compression, extrusion, etc.
