G FINE is a new generation supplementary cementitious material (SCM) with a built-in high tech content. In spite of its high fineness it does not increase water demand at the dosage range of 5 to 15 percent of normal OPC in general. In fact concrete slump is seen to be improved, due to the dense packing of cementitious material, producing low void content. The use of G FINE results in hydrated cement matrix to comprise of very small pores.
G FINE is a specially processed product based on high glass content with high reactivity obtained through the process of controlled granulation. The raw materials are composed primary of low calcium silicates. The processing with other select ingredients results in controlled particle size distribution. G FINE can also be used as a high range water reducer to improve compressive strength or as a super workability aid to improve flow.
G FINE can be used as practical substitute for Silica Fume as per the results obtained. If the advantages of G FINE are observed in the concrete mix design, the initial rate of strength development was found to be increased or similar as that of Silica Fume.

How It Works
Casting Powder Casting Powder contains low melting constituents that instantly generate liquid slag, which penetrates into the gap between the mould and the solidifying shell of the billet. Casting Powder is added in small amounts and continuously over the casting duration. The melting of the Casting Powder occurs slowly in layers. Rice milling generates a by product know as husk . This surrounds the paddy grain. During milling of paddy about 78 % of weight is received as rice , broken rice and bran .Rest 22 % of the weight of paddy is received as husk . This husk is used as fuel in the rice mills to generate steam for the parboiling process . This husk contains about 75 % organic volatile matter and the balance 25 % of the weight of this husk is converted into ash during the firing process , is known as rice husk ash ( RHA ). This RHA in turn contains around 85 % - 90 % amorphous silica. So for every 1000 kgs of paddy milled , about 220 kgs ( 22 % ) of husk is produced , and when this husk is burnt in the boilers , about 55 kgs ( 25 % ) of RHA is generated.
India is a major rice producing country , and the husk generated during milling is mostly used as a fuel in the boilers for processing paddy , producing energy through direct combustion and / or by gasification . About 20 million tones of RHA is produced annually. This RHA is a great environment threat causing damage to the land and the surrounding area in which it is dumped. Lots of ways are being thought of for disposing them by making commercial use of this RHA. The particle size of the cement is about 35 - 45 microns . There may be formation of void in the concrete mixes , if curing is not done in properly . This reduces the strength and quality of the concrete . Our product ? Silpozz ? which is made out of this RHA is finer than cement having very small particle size of 25 microns , so much so that it fills the interstices in between the cement in the aggregate. That is where the strength and density comes from. And that is why it can reduce the amount of cement in the concrete mix .
RHA is a good super-pozzolans . Silpozz can be used in a big way to make special concrete mixes . There is a growing demand for fine amorphous silica in the production of special cement and concrete mixes ,high performance concrete ,high strength, low permeability concrete, for use in bridges, marine environments , nuclear power plants etc. This market is currently filled by silica fume or micro silica , being imported from Norway, China and also from Burma . Due to limited supply of silica fumes in India and the demand being high the price of silica fume has risen to as much as US$ / ton in India.

Because of its extreme fineness and high silica content, silica fume is a very effective pozzolanic material. Standard specifications for silica fume used in cementitious mixtures are ASTM C1240,[8] EN 13263.[9]
Silica fume is added to cement concrete to improve its properties, in particular its compressive strength, bond strength, and abrasion resistance. These improvements stem from both the mechanical improvements resulting from addition of a very fine powder to the cement paste mix as well as from the pozzolanic reactions between the silica fume and free calcium hydroxide in the paste.
Addition of silica fume also reduces the permeability of concrete to chloride ions, which protects the reinforcing steel of concrete from corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments such as coastal regions and those of humid continental roadways and runways (because of the use of deicing salts) and saltwater bridges.
Effects of silica fume on different properties of fresh and hardened concrete include
a) Workability: With the addition of silica fume, the slump loss with time is directly proportional to increase in the silica fume content due to the introduction of large surface area in the concrete mix by its addition. Although the slump decreases, the mix remains highly cohesive.
b) Segregation and bleeding: Silica fume reduces bleeding significantly because the free water is consumed in wetting of the large surface area of the silica fume and hence the free water left in the mix for bleeding also decreases. Silica fume also blocks the pores in the fresh concrete so water within the concrete is not allowed to come to the surface.
