It is laminated with PDLC film from two transparent conductive coated PET. PDLC film consist of droplets of liquid crystal dispersed in a matrix prepolymer binder. The PDLC film has liquid crystal droplets with a bipolar alignment. In the absence of an electronic field the droplet director are randomly aligned and in general the refractive index of the droplet is mismatched with that of the prepolymer and the materials scatter light. In on state, the film of the PDLC can be switched to an index matched and transparent state by application of an electric field aligning the drioplet director parallel to the applied field.
