Proppants are used in Hydraulic Fracturing i.e. fracking, a technique used in extracting shale gas. Ashapura is the pioneer in manufacturing Ceramic & Silica based Proppants in India. Ashapura offers both Intermediate Strength Proppants and High Strength Proppants which have been tested and approved by certification authorities in U.S.A and U.K (PropTester Inc., USA and FracTech Laboratories, UK).
Ashapura’s Proppants are suitable for challenging extraction conditions from deep shale formations; our product helps customers to increase the ultimate recovery and life of the well.
The Group’s global leadership in in Bauxite (the principal raw material for manufacturing Proppants) give it a significant advantage in quality and competitiveness in manufacturing world class Proppants.
White silica sand is a highly pure, fine-grained sand predominantly composed of silicon dioxide (SiO). It is prized for its brightness, uniformity, and high chemical purity, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. In the construction industry, white silica sand is used in the production of high-quality concrete, mortars, and glass, where its purity and consistency are essential. It is also commonly used in foundries for molding and casting due to its ability to withstand high temperatures.
Additionally, white silica sand is utilized in water filtration systems, ceramics, and as a proppant in hydraulic fracturing (fracking). Its applications extend to sports and leisure, such as in sandblasting, sand for beaches, and golf course bunkers, where its aesthetic and functional properties are highly valued.
Rotary kiln calcined bauxite is obtained by calcining superior grade bauxite at high temperatures (from 850 to 1600) in the rotary kiln. This removes moisture thereby increasing the alumina content. Compared to an alumina content of about 57% to 58% in raw bauxite, calcined bauxite has an alumina content of 84% to 88%. Besides, through calcination, the density and refractory resistance will also be improved to varying degrees. The grade of bauxite can be increased greatly.
SEPPE Cenosphere is a lightweight, inert, hollow sphere filled with inert air or gas, typically produced as a byproduct of coal combustion at thermal power plants. The color of cenospheres varies from gray to almost white and their density is about 0.4-0.8 g/cm³, which gives them a great buoyancy. Flows like a liquid, with the appearance of a powder. Provides lightweight bulk to a varied and expansive range of compounds. Cenospheres are hard and rigid, light, waterproof, innoxious, and insulative. This makes them highly useful in a variety of products, notably fillers.
As we all know, China is the world's leading supplier of bauxite, producing over three million tons per year for refractory, abrasive, and welding applications. Calcined bauxite is made of excellent bauxite ores, fired in a kiln to impart its superior abrasive qualities, hardness, and long-term frictional resistance. This materials are in stable index, homogeneous structure and excellent high-temperature performance. Its high alumina and low iron make calcined bauxite be the ideal raw material in refractory and abrasive products.
