Natural Loofah
Another one is Luffa aegyptiaca commonly known as sponge gourd. Angled loofah has some vines from top to bottom and the sponge gourd is rounded. That is why the sponge gourd is used for exfoliation.
Natural loofah is collected when it is fully mature and ripe. A loofah fruit mesh gets stiff when ripe. Then the loofah mesh is extracted from the dry loofah, seeds are removed from inside, washed and dried properly, and finally cut into different pieces to use.
Using a loofah sponge to gently exfoliate also:
- Removes built-up oils and dirt particles clogging your pores, allowing them to contract and look smaller. Helps reduce breakouts; use part of home remedies for acne program.
- Removes dead skin cells, which can make your skin look patchy and your makeup cake up, accentuating wrinkles
- Open the skin up so it can absorb other skincare products faster and more completely
