Incubator is the most versatile low temperature indicator for biochemical oxygen demand determination .Castor wheel mounted cabinet is double walled with inner chamber of stainless steel and outer casing of m.S. Sheet duly painted. The gap of 75mm between the outer and the inner wall is filled with special grade glass wool to prevent thermal losses. Tripple walled back of the unit is fitted with two air circulation fans for maintaining the temperature uniformally throughout the chamber. Heating elements of nicrome wire are placed in the air path and are duly insulated from the body. The inner chamber is ribbed for placement of shelves at desired heights. Full view inner glass door permites inspection of specimens, without disturbing the same. Lock and key arrangement is provided in the double walled outer door. Unit is fitted with door operated illumination lamp inside the chamber. The temperature range from 5ºc to 50ºc is controlled by digital temperature controller cum indicator. Refrigeration unit is formed by hermetically sealed isi marked shriram make compressor and the cooling coil are distributed all round the chamber and lie in the air circulation path.
