The design of songket is inspired by the unique characteristic of some regions in Indonesia. Songket cloth with a cheaper price you can find in some famous tourist areas in Indonesia and often used as souvenirs at reasonable prices. For example in Bali, Lombok, Palembang, Medan and others. Each area in Indonesia has its own distinctive songket, but the original songket is made with much better material such as mercerized cotton and silk.
