A sculpture that takes us back to the time of royalty (Rajakiya in Sanskrit) when Indian kings engaged in a show of opulence while welcoming guests to their palaces, it depicts a single part of the grandeur in the form of a maiden who is about to the blow the conch to announce the arrival of the eminent visitors. Carved out of sandstone, the magnificence that surrounds the occasion is palpable, especially with the elaborately decorated attire and jewelry. It is a creation which has evolved over the years, reflecting the pomp and glory of an era long gone, reincarnated by artisans who were part of capturing significant moments in the court of the king.
