* In the field of constructions, steel acts as a powerful structure, which creates a high strength, durability and stability. Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon and sometimes other elements. It is a low cost and a significant component used in buildings, infrastructures, tools, machines, appliances, etc. * Steel being the most preferred choice for construction has great benefits. The buildings are made up of different types of steel, which forms a structural framing system, saves time and less expensive * Steel reinforcement bars or rebars are used to improve the tensile strength of the concrete. * Steel is only used as rebar because elongation of steel due to high temperatures (thermal expansion coefficient) nearly equals to that of concrete Types of Steel Reinforcement Bars * Major types of steel bars used in the construction I.Mild Steel Bar * The surface of the mild steel bars are plain and round in shape. They are available in various sizes of 6 mm to 50 mm. They are used in concrete for special purposes, such as dowels at expansion joints, where bars must slide in a metal or paper sleeve, for contraction joints in roads and runways, and for column spirals. They are easy to cut and bend without damage. Grades in mild steel bars 1. Mild Steel Bars Mild steel bars grade-I designated as Fe 410-S or Grade 60. Mild steel bars grade-II designated as Fe-410-o or Grade 40. 2. Medium Tensile Steel Bars designated as Fe- 540-w-ht or Grade 75. II.Deformed Steel Bar Deformed steel bars have ribs, lugs and indentation on the surface of the bar, which reduces the major problem that is faced by mild steel bar due to slippage and good bonding is achieved between concrete and rebar. The tensile properties is higher compared to other rebars. These bars are produced in sections from 6 mm to 50 mm dia. 1. TMT Bars (Thermo Mechanically Treated Bars) Thermo Mechanically Treated Bars are hot treated bars that are high in strength used in reinforced cement concrete (RCC) work. It is the latest induction in the MS steel bars with superior properties such as strength, ductility, welding ability, bending ability and highest quality standards at international level. Characteristics of TMT Rebars Better ductility and malleability High yield strength and toughness More bonding strength Earthquake resistance Corrosion resistance High thermal resistance Economical and safe in use No loss in strength at welded joints Ordinary electrodes used for welding the joints 2. High Strength Deformed Bars High strength deformed bars are cold twisted steel bars with lugs, ribs, projection or deformation on the surface. It the extensively and majorly used for reinforcement purposes in a construction. These bars are produced in sizes or sections from 4 mm to 50 mm in diameter.
Alloy 20 is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with outstanding corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 Olets provide strong sulfuric acid resistance. This alloy is also resistant to phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and aqueous salt solutions. Alloy 20 Olets are an excellent choice when chloride stress corrosion cracking is a concern since they resist pitting and crevice corrosion. Because the rate of corrosion can substantially increase in chloride ion-containing environments, caution should be exercised. Alloy 20 Olets may provide cost savings while outperforming typical stainless steels when compared to higher nickel-based alloys. Alloy 20 is a super-austenitic stainless steel that was developed for maximum corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid and other extreme environments where regular austenitic grades are ineffective. Hot-working and cold-working are two traditional ways of producing Alloy 20. Itâ??s also vital to determine whether or not the desired corrosion resistance can be achieved in a given environment. Alloy 20 is used in a variety of industries, including chemical processing, petrochemical and refining, marine, pharmaceutical, and food processing. End-use applications include storage tanks, mixing tanks, agitators, pump and valve parts, food processing equipment, fasteners, and fittings. Plastics and synthetic fiber manufacturing Equipment for chemical and petroleum processing, heat exchangers, and process piping

Maraging (Vascomax) specification abstracts Maraging 250 (AMS 6512/MIL-S-46850) Maraging 300 (AMS 6514/MIL-S-46850) Maraging 350 (MIL-S-46850) Maraging ( Vascomax) in Aerospace Maraging (Vascomax) is stronger than most standard steel yet still malleable. It can be flow formed over mandrels as a thinner rocket or missile skin at any length. Thinner means more room for payloads and fuel. Maraging for the Military Our armed forces rely on weapons that perform reliably over long periods in harsh environments. Maraging (Vascomax) retains its strength and has minimum distortion and deterioration, even after heat and pressure. It is a key material in the manufacture of all types of firing pins and breech blocks. Maraging in Transportation Maragings superior strength and ductility make it the preferred material for critical parts such as landing gear in all types of civilian and military aircraft. Temperature changes and sudden or constant applications of pressure, impact or torque, have little effect on parts made from Maraging. It is the ideal material for high performance internal engine components such as shafts, gears and fasteners. Maraging in Manufacturing Maragings ability to expand without cracking make it the material of choice for drill chucks. Its uniform machinability and durability make it ideal for producing gears in sophisticated robotic arms in assembly lines, and its high strength and wear resistance make it perfect for grippers in automation lines. Other Maraging (Vascomax) benefits for the manufacturing arena include excellent polishability and weldability with pre- or post heating. Maraging in Tool & Die Making Maraging (Vascomax) has a significant cost advantage over other alloys. Uniform predictable shrinkage during heat treatment means Maraging does not require excessive reworking. It is easily machined. Its hardness and strength allow it to withstand the repeated pressures of compression molding for longer tool life with a very good surface finish.
