Amyris essential oil has a very tenacious, complex odor that quickly fades out to a subdued woody-balsamic aroma; it is valued as a well-known fixative, especially in soaps,1 and finds extensive application as a mild blender in numerous types of perfumes.
Amyris grows wild on the Mountain slopes of Haiti. It is an evergreen wuith lovely white flowers, though the bark is the part of the plant which produces the resin which makes Sandalwood Amyris.
Vetiver oil is quite fragrant, with a distinctive sharp and earthy scent you may recognize from men's cologne. Vetiver essential oil is distilled from the vetiver plant's roots, which are aged before being soaked in water. The highly concentrated oil that is released is then skimmed off the top of the water.
Vetiver Essential Oil contains approximately 50% Sesquiterpenes and around 20% Sesquiterpenols making it very relaxing, grounding and well suited for emotional and spiritual application.
Vetiver Essential Oil is remarkably soothing and calming. The aroma of Vetiver Essential Oil is strong on its own. A little goes a long way. Many prefer to use it sparingly in blends so as not to overpower the other essential oils in the blend.
