Silicon manganese alloy(Mnsi65-17) is a commonly used compound deoxidizer for steelmaking, and it is also a reducing agent for the production of low carbon ferro manganese and electro-silicon thermal production of metallic manganese.

Silicon and manganese in silicon manganese alloys have a strong affinity for oxygen. The use of silicon-manganese alloy in steelmaking, resulting in deoxidation, with low melting point, large particles, easy to float, deoxidation effect and other advantages.

Silicon-manganese alloy(Mnsi65-17) plays an alloying role on the properties of steel in the form of alloying elements. Manganese is also a conventional desulfurizing element, which can prevent the hot brittleness of steel and improve the machining properties and mechanical properties of steel.

Excellent deoxidizer of Steel making secondary material, widely used in varies steel types especially well applied in BOF steelmaking deoxidization, improve the liquidity of molten steel and avoid built-up at the nozzle, decrease gas and impurities.

Using silicon-manganese alloy to deoxidize and alloying in ladle instead of part of ferro silicon or all ferro manganese is helpful to improve the effective solubility of silicon, and also contribute to the simultaneous deoxidization of manganese and silicon, and improve the deoxidization capacity of silicon.
