Fluorspar, also known as fluorite, is a mineral composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2). It is a widely occurring mineral that is found in various types of rock formations. Fluorspar has a wide range of uses, including in the production of aluminum, steel, hydrofluoric acid, and as a flux in the production of glass, ceramics, and enamels. It is also used as a source of fluorine in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and as a gemstone. Fluorspar is known for its unique fluorescence, which is caused by the presence of certain impurities in the mineral. Metallurgical grade fluorspar (metspar) representing almost one third of world production volume is used in the manufacturing of aluminium and stainless steel, in extraction of metals such as niobium and tantalum, in metal processing to remove unwanted impurities and in various other applications.
Fluorspar Powder (Acid Grade) CaF2 90-98% Fluorspar (CaF2) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, also called fluorite. Pure fluorite is transparent, both in visible and ultraviolet light, but impurities usually make it a colorful mineral and the stone has ornamental and lapidary uses. Industrially, fluorite is used as a flux for smelting, and in the production of certain glasses and enamels. Chemical Industry: More than one half of the world fluorite output is used to refine HF, which is regarded as the starting point of fluorine chemical industry chain. Fluorine chemical industry is one of the necessary materials for high-tech industry. Fluorite, as the most economic and the key to refine mineral raw materials, at present more than half of the world fluorite production is used to make HF. Fluorite is used as flux to smelt steel and nonferrous metal, attributing to its feature of lowering the melting point of refractory minerals.
