Calamus oil is primarily obtained from a water plant that has sword-like leaves and tiny flowers. Most of the parts of this plant have singular aroma. This oil is extracted from the roots and the fragrance makes calamus oil esteemed in the perfume industry. Calamus oil is pretty useful as a herbal medication for a range of treatments which include anxiety and other nervous complaints, dizziness, headaches and during infection of the intestines marked by severe diarrhea. Also, calamus oil is widely used as aromatic bitter and acts as flatus-relieving agent. The oil can also be used as an appetite stimulant.
