Dates are grown in so-called palm gardens. The fruits ripen in bunches on the palm tree and are washed, dried, and sorted after harvest. If necessary, the dates are drilled, cut, and packed before loading.
There are approximately 1,500 different types of dates. Each variety has different characteristics and ranges in color from red to black.
