These special spanners have been developed for tightening and opening of Gear Case Bolts of the Electric Locomotives.
These special spanners have the following salient features:
1. The Spanners are with Ratchet Pawl Mechanisms.
2. The Spanners can be used to open and tighten the bolt with the help of Reverse and Forward Mechanism of the Ratchet System by changing the position of the pawl.
3. The Spanners are bi-hexagonal for easy gripping of the bolt head and both side open to facilitate working from both sides.
4. The body has been designed to suit the easy operationof the tool at the specified location.
5. Components of the tool have been hardened and tempered to ensure wear resistance and long life.
6. All components are made from chrome vanadium steel.
7. The spanners have been tested satisfactorily at a load of 200 Kgf. M.
