The plant has alternating leaves with dark seeds and pointed flowers and provides culinary needs. Basil is known as Ocicum basilicum scientifically. Areas Grown in Kenya Basil in Kenya grows well in Meru and Nakuru as they meet the wet and hot patterns of growing basil as it requires plenty of water and direct sunlight for eight hours daily.
