Mahapengiri can be identified from the shape of the leaves are shorter and wider than the leaves that are lenabatu. With distillation, this type gives higher oil yields than lenabatu, also of better quality, meaning that the content of geraniol and citronellal is higher than lenabatu. We use mahapengiri as the raw material for citronella oil and we always recommend farmers who are our partners to always use mahapengiri as the seeds of the citronella plant that are planted.
