Grinding, blasting, and cutting processes, as well as the production of refractory materials, all employ alumina. We are proud to be the world's largest fused alumina producer and supplier. It is also known as fused aluminium oxide Alumina is found in the regions of Odisha, West Bengal, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. There are several physical properties of alumina. It is high in hardness with the value of 9 on Mohs scale. It has sharp-edged grains, a high load bearing capacity, strong shock resistance, and thermal and chemical stability, besides their superior hardness. Alumina, or aluminium oxide (aluminum oxide), is better known in the mineral world as corundum with the chemical formula Al2O3 Alumina has widespread usage in several industries in refractories, sandblasting and abrasives to mention a few. Grinding, machining, blasting, cutting, and the manufacturing of shaped and unshaped refractory materials all employ fused aluminium oxide grits. We offer innovative, brilliant quality alumina mineral with both macro and micro sized that could be used for a wide range of applications. We can add refining procedures to our regular production of alumina mineral to suit the bespoke requirements of various industries and application domains. These various industries are ceramics, sand casting, tiles, enamels, laminates & paints, industrial coatings, abrasives, blasting, concrete & resin components, refractories, insulators and heat conductive to name a few.
What is Alumina? Alumina is a chemical compound that is formed of aluminum and oxygen with the formula Al2O3.It is called Aluminium Oxide. It has melting and boiling points of 2072 C and 2977 C, respectively. Aluminum Oxide has a density of 3.95 g/cm3. Why is Alumina powder used in ceramics? Although Alumina is an electrical insulator, it has a high heat transmission for a ceramic. Water does not melt Alumina. So, it is used in ceramics. What are the specifications of Alumina powder? Specifications of Aluminum Serial No Chemical Descriptions Percentage 1 Al2O3 99% 2 Fe2O3 0.05% 3 Mesh +200 How is alumina powder made for ceramics? Alumina are manufactured in ceramics from white particles or a smooth dense powder purified from bauxite. Alumina is a strong, long-wearing industrial ceramic which can only be produced via diamond cutting. What are the Uses in others? Alumina is a great element for bricks, plastics, polymers, and heavy clayware since it is chemically stable. It is also a popular component in sandpaper and a cost-effective alternative to industrial diamonds. What are the Side effects? Although Alumina is a beneficial metal, it is a skin irritant and it is also harmful for the environment. Itâ??s definitely uncomfortable in some cases
Alumina, synthetically produced aluminum oxide, Al2O3, a white or nearly colourless crystalline substance that is used as a starting material for the smelting of aluminum metal. It also serves as the raw material for a broad range of advanced ceramic products and as an active agent in chemical processing
White aluminum oxide is electrically fused in the furnace with high grade bayer processed alumina as raw material. It has high purity, ability of self-sharpening, better cutting, less heat emit, higher efficiency, acid and alkali resistance, good thermal stability. Abrasives tools made of it are suitable for grinding high-speed, high carbon steel , excite also can be used as materials for grinding and polishing, precision casting, spaying and coating, medium body for chemical industry, special ceramics and high-grade refractory materials, etc.
Brown fused alumina is fused and crystalized under high temperature from a mixture of bauxite and other raw materials. It is characterized by its high hardness, good toughness and sharp shape in size. Abrasives tools made of it are suitable for grinding metals of high-tensile strength such as: carbon steel, general purpose alloy steel, annealed malleable cast iron and hard bronze, etc. It also can be used as refractory materials.
Alumina ceramics is the most mature of the engineering ceramics, offering excellent electrical insulation properties together with high hardness and good wear resistance but relatively low strength and fracture toughness. High purity alumina ceramics are ideal for environments where resistance to wear and corrosive substances are required. Alumina ceramic has excellent thermal stability, which means that it is widely used in areas where resistance to high temperatures is essential. Alumina ceramic is the material of choice for alumina wear parts. The proven wear and heat resistance of alumina wear parts makes them ideal for the manufacture of wear-resistant components. Alumina has a high melting point, high hardness, although mechanical strength is reduced at temperatures above 1000 C. Due to the relatively large coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal shock resistance is reduced. Alumina is an electrically insulating material, with a high electrical resistivity, increasing with purity. Good chemical stability of alumina leads to high corrosion resistance. It is insoluble in water and only slightly soluble in strong acid and alkaline solutions. Testing has shown that the low chemical solubility of alumina ceramics components makes them highly resistant to chemical corrosion. This is what makes high purity alumina the material of choice for components in a wide range of industrial applications. Alumina Ceramics are generally white and the color is derived from either the sintering additives or impurities in the raw materials. We make and supply alumina ceramic grinding media, abrasion ceramic lining and alumina ceramic parts & components. We also supply zirconia ceramics.
Allied's alumina powders are made to the highest quality specifications and are used for the final polishing of metallographic specimens. Accurately controlled purity levels and particle size distribution assure optimum polishing results. Mix with DI water to produce a liquid slurry. 0.05 particle type/shape is Gamma; 0.3 and 1.0 are Alpha. E.D.S is here to serve you, Provide you information and services for your needs.

1. Description White tabular alumina is a kind of pure sintered corundum, which is sintered and completely shrink without adding any additive, such as mgo or b2o3, with coarse crystals and well-developed alpha al2o3 crystal structure. The tabular crystal structure is characterized by narrow pores, with more closed porosity, almost the same apparent porosity compare with fused corundum, high purity, good stability volume density, tiny refiring shrink. After high temperature treatment, tabular alumina is used for refractory and castable characterized by good thermal shock stability and flexural strength. But the price is higher than the other alumina. 2. Performance Tabular alumina is characterized by good heating volume temperature performance and good thermal shock resistance. 3. Usage Tabular alumina is the perfect refractory raw material, which is widely used as the aggregate for producing various alumina refractory, it also can be used in other monolithic refractory. It can replace fused alumina and white fused alumina in some application position, and improve the performance of refractory material. 4.
