The aim of the high-level protective mask project, in which our company started R&D studies, was to produce a high-level protective mask that eliminates the risk of infection of healthcare personnel who have a high risk of infection and have contact with infected patients. In the new product we have developed, 5-layer nonwoven fabric is used. The fabric used in the second layer is a type with high level of liquid retention. The reason is that microorganisms cannot move inside in any way by holding here because of the specially coated solution. This essential oil blend is crosslinked with a polymeric structure. In this biocompatible polymer structure, first a hydrogel obtained from seaweed and then a different hydrogel obtained from sea shells was used.
