Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil Sunflower oil, produced by cold pressing method, is a natural oil obtained from sunflower seeds. In this method, the seeds are subjected to a mechanical pressing process and then the oil is separated. This method preserves the nutritional value and flavor of the oil, but produces a smaller amount of oil. Sunflower oil is a healthy oil containing high amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. This oil is rich in linoleic acid, which supports heart health, and contains vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties. Additionally, the oleic acid contained in the oil is beneficial to skin health and may help reduce inflammation. Sunflower oil produced by the cold press method is not ideal for use at high temperatures. Instead, it is recommended for use in salads, sauces and light cooking methods. However, it can also be used when cooking at low heat. Some sunflower oil producers refine the oil by using some chemical processes as well as sunflower seeds.
