1, all surfaces to be attached must be free of dust, dirt, oil, and moisture. (Apply organic solvent to clean surface if necessary.)
2, started from one side of the surface, press the adhesive side of tape firmly in place(leave backing paper on to prevent stretching).
Application:
1. Ideal tape application temperature is range:20-30
2. Keep surface clean to obtain maximum adhesive power.
3. The holding power depends on the situation of surface.
4. The compress power should be at least 5kg/m2.

The main advantage of butyl tape is that it combines the adhesive power of tape with the sealing power of caulk and other sealing products.
Roofing
One of the original uses for butyl tape is for roofs. The tape protects and seals cracks, seams and even small holes on the surface of a roof. In most cases, the tape works best on smooth, dirt- and grit-free roofs. The tape can hold many types of roofing together, such as metal, vinyl, asphalt, cement and tar paper. Even though the tape is strong and flexible, it's not designed to hold large areas of roofing together.
Vents
Butyl tape can be used on all vents leading from the inside of a building to the outside.
