Feldspar The minerals of the feldspar group (feldspars for short) are a large group of very frequently occurring silicates with the general chemical composition (Ba,Ca,Na,K,NH4,Sr)(Al,Fe3+,B,Si)4O8. The elements indicated in parentheses can represent each other (substitution, diadochy), but are always in the same quantitative ratio to the other constituents of the mineral (substitution).
