Type 201 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless alloy. It was developed mid century to conserve nickel and it is used as an alternative to type 301 in some tempered applications. Because of 201â??s relatively high yield strength in the annealed condition, use of 201 is limited. Type 201 is generally used in the tempered condition particularly for springs and fasteners. 201 Stainless will retain a comparable ductility to 301 even with the higher yield strength.
Alloy 204CU is a chromium-magnesium austenitic stainless steel with an addition of 2-4% copper and nitrogen of 0.05-0.25%. Due to the addition of copper the alloy has better formability than 201 and 304. The copper improves corrosion and resistance to stress corrosion cracking in certain media. 204CU bridges the cost-property gap between 200 and 300 series stainless. Alloy 204CU is slightly after cold working but can be minimized.
Type 301 is an austenitic stainless steel capable of attaining high strengths and ductility by cold working. It is not hardenable by heat treatment. Type 301 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working. It is preferable over types 302 and 304 in the tempered condition because the higher elongations (which are attainable at a given strength level) facilitate fabrication.
Type 302 is not hardenable by heat treatment and in non-magnetic in the annealed condition. It becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working. If carbide precipitation is an issue 304 may be a better choice with its lower carbon content.
Haynes 25, also known as L-605 alloy, is a high-temperature, high-strength, and highly corrosion-resistant superalloy. It is developed and produced by Haynes International, Inc. in the United States and is typically used in high-temperature, high-pressure, and highly corrosive environments.
The main components of Haynes 25 alloy are cobalt, chromium, molybdenum, iron, and tungsten, with cobalt content exceeding 50%. This gives it better high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance than other nickel-based alloys. The alloy also has excellent high-temperature oxidation and thermal corrosion resistance, can be used in high-temperature environments up to 1200â??, and has good machinability and weldability.
Here are the Haynes 25 alloy's various country standards in English:
US: AMS 5537, AMS 5796, AMS 5797, AMS 5800, AMS 5801, AMS 5803, AMS 5876, AMS 5894, ASTM B424, ASTM B425, UNS R30605
Europe: EN 2.4964
Germany: DIN 17744, VdTÃ??V 424
France: AFNOR NC 22 K, AIR 9165
UK: BS HR 5, BS HR 504, BS HR 505
Japan: JIS NW6025
We can provide the following the form:Haynes 25 coil; Haynes 25 strip;Haynes 25 plate; Haynes 25 sheets; Haynes 25 tube; Haynes 25 pipe;Haynes 25 flat; Haynes 25 bar
GB/JIS:NW alloy L-605/UNS:R30605/W.Nr:2.4964
Haynes 25 alloy has a wide range of applications in various industries due to its excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. It is commonly used in gas turbine engine components, such as combustor liners, turbine blades, and afterburner parts. It is also used in the aerospace industry for hot section components, including heat shields, jet engine exhaust systems, and rocket motor components. In addition, Haynes 25 alloy finds use in chemical and petrochemical processing, where it is utilized for equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, and heat exchangers. It is also employed in high-temperature furnace components, such as muffles, retorts, and flame shields.
Hastelloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy with exceptional corrosion resistance in a variety of aggressive media. It was developed by Haynes International in the 1960s as a more versatile alternative to other nickel alloys such as Hastelloy B-2 and Hastelloy C-4. The high chromium content in Hastelloy C-276 provides superior resistance to oxidizing environments, while the molybdenum and tungsten enhance resistance to reducing media. The nickel content also makes Hastelloy C-276 highly resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.
Hastelloy C-276 has a wide range of applications in industries such as chemical processing, pulp and paper production, waste treatment, and pollution control. Its resistance to hot sulfuric acid and chlorine environments makes it suitable for use in scrubbers, ducting, and piping systems. It is also used in flue gas desulfurization systems and in the production of organic chemicals such as acetic acid and acetic anhydride.
Hastelloy C-276 is a versatile alloy that can be easily fabricated using traditional techniques such as hot and cold forming, welding, and machining. It can also be heat treated to optimize its properties for specific applications. For example, annealing at temperatures between 2050°F and 2150°F can improve resistance to intergranular attack, while solution annealing at 2150°F followed by rapid quenching can enhance resistance to localized corrosion.
Overall, Hastelloy C-276 is an excellent choice for applications that require superior corrosion resistance and high strength in aggressive environments. Its versatility, ease of fabrication, and excellent mechanical properties make it a popular choice in a variety of industries.
The following are the various national standards for Hastelloy C-276 alloy:
United States: AMS 5750, AMS 5751, AMS 5796, AMS 5587, ASTM B366, ASTM B462, ASTM B574, ASTM B575, ASTM B619, ASTM B622, ASTM B626, UNS N10276
