This product is providing sustainable income for villagers in this community, including women and children. Key Features : Farmed in shallow lagoon waters for up to 12 weeks on ropes before harvested, then sun-dried for 4 to 5 days, bagged in 50kg bags and transported to Honiara (the capital city) to buyers who then export. The community farmers are looking at exporting directly, and hence the reason I get involved, as I am a farmer myself from the area, as well as a buyer. On average, the farmers can collectively produce 200 tonnes a month. We can start the export with 20% of the market share first.
