Acacia honey is clear yellow in colour, has a mild aroma and a delicate sweet taste, therefore it is very suitable for children. It crystallizes very slowly. Forest honey originates from manna and flowers. It is darker and less sweet with intense flavour and aroma of resin, wood and herbs. Chestnut honey is a real treasure trove of rare substances needed by the human body. Of all the Slovenian honeys it is the richest with pollen, which is reflected by the extremely bitter taste. It can originate from flowers or manna; that is why it has many shades of brown. It has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract, liver and helps with insomnia. Chestnut honey should, under supervision of a physician, also be consumed by some diabetics.
