NANOSIL Silica is a grade name of Silica series, manufactured by Nanotec India. NANOSIL is high purity of more than 99% of SiO2 natural crystalline silica. This micronized AND Jet Milled ground silica is inherently bright, white, low in moisture & inert by nature and the hardness of silica mineral yields improved burnish resistance and durability. Other important properties of this silica mineral include low resin demand, anti-foaming properties and sheen control. It is used in paints, industrial Cement flooring, Epoxy flooring etc. NANOSIL SILICA has Good Matting Effect, Narrow Particle Size Distribution, No Melting Point (thermoset), Temperature Resistant up to 200 °C, Highly Transparent in Film, High Scratch Resistance, High Resistance to Polishing, Shear Resistant, Chemical Resistant, No Swelling in Normal Coatings Solvents, No Adverse Effects on Catalysts, Little Influence on Viscosity/Rheology and Good Gloss Retention in All Weather. NANOSIL 0790 has Average Particle Size (D-50) is 1.8 microns and Top Cut (D-97) is 7 microns. Brightness is more than 90%.
Fumed silica (CAS number 112945-52-5), also known as pyrogenic silica because it is produced in a flame, consists of microscopic droplets of amorphous silica fused into branched, chainlike, three-dimensional secondary particles which then agglomerate into tertiary particles. The resulting powder has an extremely low bulk density and high surface area. Its three-dimensional structure results in viscosity-increasing, thixotropic behavior when used as a thickener or reinforcing filler. Fumed silica has a very strong thickening effect. Primary particle size is 550 nm. The particles are non-porous and have a surface area of 50600 m2/g. The density is 160190 kg/m3.
