The tree is indigenous to Africa and Unrefined Shea butter is rich in vitamins A, E, oleic acid, and sterols, and hence a great natural ingredient for cosmetics formulations due to its emollient properties, particularly its ability to soften the skin along with dry areas.
For over decades, shea butter has been exported to Europe and used as an ingredient in chocolate and as a substitute for cocoa butter.
