Songket cloth with a cheaper price you can find in some famous tourist areas in Indonesia and often used as souvenirs at reasonable prices. For example in Bali, Lombok, Palembang, Medan and others.
Each area in Indonesia has its own distinctive songket, but the original songket is made with much better material such as mercerized cotton and silk. The process was woven manually, the production process is longer and complicated. So the price is much more expensive.
Of course you can just order with designs and materials that are similar to the original songket typical of the region but there is a difference in production costs. Due to the limitations of the ability of textile machinery, not all songket designs can be produced in modern machines. So there is a songket that must be woven manually instead of the machine.
