Lavender oil is an essential oil that is appreciated and widely used. It is obtained by distilling the inflorescences of different species of lavender. There are over 400 types of lavender species worldwide, of different quality, depending on the components of the extracted essential oil and its concentration in active ingredients. Pure lavender oil is obtained using only the inflorescences. With great care, we harvest the plants and select only the inflorescences, in order to obtain the best quality of the oil. We make sure that the harvest takes place in the optimal period, when the plant is the richest in maximum quality oil. As we do not intervene with chemicals during the natural development of the cuttings, the harvest does not take place on a set date, but we respect the growth rate of each crop, depending on the annual climatic conditions. The June-August interval is usually the harvest interval and we choose the optimal harvest time each year. These details make it possible for lavender oil to have a different composition, even when it comes from the same species. The different composition will lead to different therapeutic properties and sometimes this can only be noticed by smell. A poor quality oil will smell much more subtle than an essential oil rich in active ingredients. Lavender oil is farmed in Bacau and Iasi fields, the primary type of lavender being Lavandula Angustifolia.
