Based on different base material, there're three basic types but not limited to: FR-4/3/2 PCB, CEM-3 PCB, Metal Core PCB and Special PCB series (such as Ceramic PCB).
For FR-4 PCB, right now, we just class it into S/S PCB, 2 Layers PCB, Multi-Layers PCB (20 layers).
For MCPCB, which full name is Metal Core Printed Circuit Board, there're single layer MCPCB, double layers MCPCB and double sided MCPCB (2 layers on each side).
Special PCB, in fact, should be sorted to above two tapes, but considering special requirements, so we list it seperated. Right now, we can make RF boards (Rogers, Taconic materials), Heavy Copper PCB (4~20 OZ/ft2), Ceramic PCB, HDI, and so on.
What is a Counterbore Hole?
A counterbore hole is a cylindrical recess on a PCB that has a larger diameter at the top surface and a smaller diameter at the bottom. The purpose of a counterbore hole is to create space for a screw head or a boltâ??s flange, allowing it to sit flush with or slightly below the PCB surface. The larger diameter at the top accommodates the head or flange, while the smaller diameter ensures that the fastenerâ??s shaft or body fits snugly.
What is a Countersunk Hole?
On the other hand, a countersunk hole is a conical recess on a PCB that allows the head of a screw or bolt to sit flush with the PCB surface. The shape of a countersunk hole matches the profile of the fastenerâ??s head, creating a seamless and level surface when the screw or bolt is fully inserted. Countersunk holes typically have an angled side, often 82 or 90 degrees, which determines the shape and size of the fastener head that will fit into the recess.
The prepreg dielectric provides excellent heat transfer from the foil and components to the base plate, while maintaining excellent electrical isolation. The base aluminum/copper plate gives the single-sided substrate mechanical integrity, and distributes and transfers the heat to a heat sink, mounting surface or directly to the ambient air.
The Single-Layer MCPCB can be used with surface mount and chip & wire components, and provides much lower thermal resistance than FR4 PWB. The metal core provides lower cost than ceramic substrates, and allows much larger areas than ceramic substrates.
