The basalt rock is a kind of volcano, Mohs Scale Hardness is from 3 to 3.5,density is from 2.1 g/cm3 to 3.1 g/cm3,and the color is dark gray. Basalt is a new friction raw material, it is mainly to improve the coefficient of friction and reduce costs. Basalt is used in Brake pad Drum brake or clutch,The recommended regular consumption of Basalt is from 2% to 8%.

The character of Basalt:
Basalt is a kind of basic extrusive rock,it is formed by magma in the earth's surface by a volcanic eruption after cooling solidification and become a dense or foamy structure of rock, it belongs to magmatic rocks.
Basalt rock structure often has the shape of pores, almond-shaped structure and porphyritic structure, sometimes with a large mineral crystals, The color of unweathered basalt mainly is black ,gray, also has the color of dark brown, dark purple and celadon. Basalt volume density is from 2.8 g/cm3 to 3.3 g/cm3, the compression strength is very big which can be up to 300 mpa or even higher in dense structure, but intensity will be reduced if the impurities with crystal and porosity. Basalt has High durability and joint of which the Joint surface appear as hexagon (in basalt lava flow, rock vertical condensation surface often develop into regular hexagonal prism shape joints). Because of the brittleness of Basalt, it is not easy to be picked large pieces of stone. Although basalt is widely distributed on the earth's surface, but because of the air hole and almond construct, it is often to use as facing stone.
