These handy snap to close clam shells offer a rigid shell around the primary recepticle ensuring safety and reliability of the sample during shipping. Simply insert the tubes into the blisters and apply a sheet of absorbent across the top and snap closed. When shipping more than one tube in each blister ensure each tube is wrapped seperately.
The blisters are ideal for shipping in DaklaPack's flexible secondary leakproof packaging pouch such as our Safetybag and IATA Safetybag range and ship to the recipient in a clearly labeled outer box or envelope. All available items from DaklaPack's webshop.

RigidSafetybag - combining 3 packaging elements into 1 & simplifying the packing process.
The patented RigidSafetybag by DaklaPack consists of a 100% leak and tamper-proof Safetybag, a blister like tube holder surrounded with sufficient absorbing material to fully absorb any leaked content from the primary receptacle during the unlikely event of a leakage.
Due to the rigid internal component, the filled and sealed RigidSafetybag can simply be entered into a fully labelled UN3373 envelope / box and sent to the receiver.
Save time effort and money using this simple solution which is fully labelled with usage instruction and provides 100% tamper evidence due to its destructive seal and tamper text in the side seals.
Secondary leak proof packaging - 100% leak and tamper proof.
Available in various sizes, suitable to hold a wide range of primary containers, such as blood tubes, specimen containers and swabs.
The pouches are easy to close. They are sequentially numbered and incorporate a tamper-evident seal to ensure ease of identification and security throughout the chain of custody.
The pouch is made of strong transparent polyethylene, and is guaranteed to keep liquid inside.
Easy to close, simply removing the backing strip and applying even pressure across the strip, the pouch is then hermetically sealed. In combination with the transport blister, the PolyMed mailing envelope and sufficient absorbent material, this composition complies with the packaging regulations (P650 and P959).

UN3373 Standard â?? Key Requirements
The P650 packaging instructions for liquid substances state:-
The primary receptacle(s) shall be leak proof and must not contain more than 1L liquid, and not contain more than 1kg solid.
The secondary packaging shall be leak proof for liquids; (DaklaPack's Safetybags)
If multiple fragile primary receptacles are placed in a single secondary packaging, they shall be either individually wrapped or separated to prevent contact between them; (DaklaPack's Absorbing sheets + tube holders)
If liquid, absorbent material shall be placed between the primary receptacles(s) and the secondary packaging. The absorbent material shall be in quantity sufficient to absorb the entire contents of the primary receptacle(s) so that any release of the liquid substance will not compromise the integrity of the cushioning material or of the outer packaging;
The outer packaging must be rigid and must not contain more than 4L liquid or 4kg solid.
One surface of the outer packaging must measure at least 100mm x 100mm (DaklaPack's boxes and shipping solutions are fully conform if there is any doubt as to whether or not residual liquid may be present in the primary receptacle during transport, then a packaging suitable for liquids, including absorbent materials, must be used.
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, DaklaPack have been receiving an increase in inquiries regarding which types of swabs, media, and kits should be used for COVID-19 sample collection prior to testing. We have made this product group to home all of our testing swabs and transport media. As outlined by PHE the collection and handling of clinical specimens suspected of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), health workers should only use synthetic fiber swabs with plastic shafts. Calcium alginate swabs or swabs with wooden shafts should not be used when testing for COVID-19 as these can contain substances that inactivate some viruses and can inhibit PCR testing. For initial diagnostic testing, PHE recommends collecting and testing of the nasal respiratory tract or a throat respiratory tract. All testing should be conducted in consultation with a healthcare provider. Once the swab has been used to take a sample, simply break off at the break line and enter into the tube with VTM. This can then be sent through the mail using our P650 set, or entered into the RigidSafetyBag and then into the UN3373 mailing envelope.
