The source Sweet Myrrh Resin is the thorny shrubs of Commiphora holtziana that grow wildly and naturally in Somalia and Ethiopia. The trees ooze a pale yellow-white viscous liquid from natural cracks in the bark or from fissures or when cut. The exudate hardens into a reddish-brown mass when air dried.

The resin gum extracted from Commiphora holtziana tree is a superior resin also known as Sweet Myrrh or Myrrh Hagar.

The Sweet Myrrh Essential Oil is extracted from the gum resin by Nagaad Resins and Gums using Steam and Hydro Distillation and is ECOCERT Organic Certified without any Preservatives. The Essential Oil exudes a sweet, soft and long-lasting aroma that is very pleasing to the senses and why the oil is sometimes referred to as Sweet Myrrh. The Sweet Myrrh Essential Oil has a wealth of health benefits from healing of wounds, skin ulcers and boils, weeping eczema, mouth ulcers, sore throats, and it has anti-fungal properties, and is good for the digestive track with significant benefits in treating dysentery, intestinal colitis and loss of appetite.

The source of the Myrrh Hagar resin (also known as Sweet Myrrh) is from the the Commiphora holtziana tree. The tree oozes a pale yellow-white viscous liquid from natural cracks in the bark or from fissures or when cut. The exudate hardens into a reddish-brown mass when air dried.

Traditionally the resin of Myrrh Hagar is a good source of medicine for the treatment of inflammation, arthritis, obesity, microbial infection, wounds, pain, fractures, tumors, gastrointestinal diseases, snake bites and scorpion stings. The resin of Myrrh Hagar is also used traditionally as an excellent acaricide.
