Compostability

EN 13432 - EU standard for industrially compostable packaging (behind the Seedling logo / OK compost INDUSTRIAL). The main one for your cups, bowls, plates.
EN 14995 - compostability of plastic items, i.e. PLA/CPLA cutlery.
ASTM D6400 - the US equivalent (behind BPI certification).
Home compost: OK compost HOME, NF T51 800 (France), AS 5810 (Australia) only if actually certified.

Food contact safety

Reg. (EC) 1935/2004 - EU framework for all food-contact materials.
Reg. (EU) 10/2011 -for any plastic parts (lids/lining).
BfR Recommendation XXXVI - the reference for the paper/fibre itself.
FDA (US) - for the American market.
Buyers will request a Declaration of Compliance (DoC).

Management & other

ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment) - facility-level certifications.
SUP Directive (EU) 2019/904 - relevant if items are PLA/plastic-coated.
