Cloves are used in spice cookies and cakes. In Indonesia, clove finds its most popular usage as the dominant flavoring agent for kretek, namely the clove aromatized cigarettes. Clove also produces essential oil. Clove oil is extracted by water distillation and mixes well with cinnamon, cedar, lavender, rose and bergamot.
