A Solvent Dye is a dye soluble in organic solvents. It is usually used as a solution in an organic solvent. Solvent dyes are used to color organic solvents, hydrocarbon fuels, waxes, lubricants, plastics, and other hydrocarbon-based nonpolar materials. Fuel dyes are one use of solvent dyes. Their molecules are typically nonpolar or little polar, and they do not undergo ionization. They are insoluble in water. They form a colloidal solution in solvents. They have poor (basic dyes) to good (metal complex based) light fastness.
Our lake colors are water insoluble in nature and are apt for coloring products that contains fat and oil & various other products which lack sufficient moisture to dissolve dyes. These lake food colors are manufactured through combining dyes and insoluble materials. These colors are extensively used in cosmetic, pharmaceuticals, bakery products, dairy products & more.

Basic Dyes are water soluble and spirit soluble colorants. Basic dyes for paper widely used in textile industries. Basic dyes offered by us are used mainly in the applications of acrylic fibers such as types 42 and 75 orlon and type 61 creslan. The dye is generally used to produce bright and deep shades with superior light and wash fastness. Its application is similar to that of direct dyes but requires different and more precise controls with auxiliaries and temperature.
An Acid Dye is a dye, in chemical regard a sodium (less oftenammonium) salt of a sulfonic, carboxylic or phenol organic acid. Acid dye is soluble in water and possesses the affinity for amphoteric fibers while lacking direct dyes affinity for cellulose fibers. When dyeing, ionic bonding with fiber cationic sites accounts for fixation of colored anions in the dyed material. Acids are added to dyeing baths to increase the number of protonated amino groups in fibers. Some acid dyes are used as food colorants.
Direct Dyes are a class of hot water dyes for use on cellulose fibers, such as cotton. It is one of the two types of dyes that are mixed in all-purpose dyes’ such as Rit, Tintex Hot Water dye, and Dylon Multi-purpose Dye. Direct dyes or substantive dyeing is normally carried out in a neutral or slightly alkaline dyebath, at or near boiling point, with the addition of either sodium chloride (NaCl) or sodium sulfate (Na2SO4).
