It is a white soft mineral composed primarily Kaolinite mineral having chemical composition of Al2O3.2SiO2.2H2O with minor amounts of quartz, feldspar and sheet silicate minerals (mica, illite, smectite). Hard and soft clays are characterized by its fine particle size, platy or lamellar particle shape and chemically inertness. Clays having fine particle size are described as hard clay. Phyllosilicates being a sub group of silicate minerals that has typically less than 2um in diameter. The combination of platy shape and fine particle size results in improved processibility, improved reinforcement, tensile strength, abrasion and tera strength. After mining the above mineral ore is dressed, dried, pulverized, air-floated, water washed (levitated), calcined and surface modified. As per the application the grades are selected by the end user. The processing techniques at PEEKAY MINERALS ensures consistent quality, control of top-cut and average particle size and freedom from impurities at pocket friendly costs. Application & Features: Ceramics: China Clay is an essential constituent in Ceramics. It is used by almost manufacturer worldwide in Electrical porcelain, Fine China & dinnerware, Floor and Wall Tile, Roof Tile, Pottery, Sanitary ware, Tableware and other engineering products. The properties important for the use of China Clay in Ceramics are Plastic Properties, Drying properties, Firing properties, Firing Color, Electrical properties such as conductivity, dielectric content etc. Our clay permits product to be easily deformed under stress without rupturing and retains shape produced when stress is removed. Due to low water of plasticity, it does not require intense forming pressure to withstand handling/drying and the Green Strength is better. The Firing properties are excellent to produce super white finish. The processed clay is free from grits and all metallic impurities. The particle size is very low and even which keeps drying shrinkage in desired parameters.
Ball clay is a silicate clay rock of which kaolinite is the main constituent: Al2Si2O5(OH)4. Ball clays are kaolinitic clays in the family of silicate minerals. It commonly consists of kaolinite, mica, quartz silica, as well as few organic matters. Ball clay is formed from the weathering and transportation by water of parent rocks. Seams in the same deposit may vary in composition, depending on the quantity of the principal and accessory minerals. Ball clays are fine-grained, highly plastic clays, which are principally used in the manufacture of ceramic whiteware and sanitaryware where they are appreciated for their plasticity, unfired strength and their light colour on firing. Selected clays can even give pure white end products. Among others, ball clays are also used in refractories, in polymers, in adhesives and sealants and in horticulture as soil amendments. Ball clay is particularly valued as a base material in the manufacture of ceramics. Combined with kaolin, ball clays provide the cohesion and workability necessary for the creation of ceramic parts such as sanitaryware. While using it with kaolin, feldspar and quartz in tableware, ball clay confers high plasticity and a good white-fired colour to the end product. In wall and floor tiles, ball clays are prized for their plasticity and bonding properties. In glazes and engobes, they ensure a perfect finish. Electrical porcelain insulators Ball contain plastic clays to provide insulation from high voltage currents. BALL CLAY produced by Peekay Minerals are having the following charactsitics High plasticity High unfired mechanical strength Highly controlled rheological properties Controlled organic content Controlled residue Excellent workability End Users usually ask the following test results L Value firing test of whiteness Dry MOR Fired MOR at 1180 deg cent Water of Plasticity Shrinkage Sieve Analysis
Bentonites are used for decolorizing various mineral, vegetable, and animal oils. They are also used for clarifying wine, liquor, cider, beer, mead, and vinegar. The main uses of bentonite are as drilling mud, binder (e.g. foundry-sand bond, iron ore pelletizer), purifier, absorbent (e.g. pet litter), and as a groundwater barrier. As of around 1990, almost half of the US production of bentonite was used as drilling mud.

White Quartz Lumps Supplier Manufacturer Wholesaler Exporter From Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Quartz is one of the hardest yet abundantly available mineral found in earthâ??s crust. In contrast to its ease of availability, It is quite valuable. We, At QUARTZO STONEX always try to implement best and advanced techniques to provide high quality quartz products in India. The scientific composition is silicon and oxygen atoms in a continuous framework of SiO4 siliconâ??oxygen tetrahedra, with every oxygen atom being co-valently shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall chemical formula of SiO2. Quartz mineral basically differ from SIO2 in the sense that it contains Silica(SIO2) with certain other elements/impurities in a fixed composition.
Quartz is the most abundant and most common mineral on the Earth. It is found in almost every geological environment and also it is at least a component of almost every rock type. It has a hexagonal crystal structure and is made of trigonal crystallized silica. It is most varied in terms of varieties, colors and forms. The most important distinction between the types of quartz is that one is of macrocrystalline, which is individual crystal visible to the unaided eye, and the other is microcrystalline or cryptodrystalline varieties, aggregates of crystals visible only under high magnification. Chalcedony is the generic term for cryptocrystalline quartz. The transparent variety tends to be macrocrystalline and the cryptocrystalline varieties are either translucent or mostly opaque. Salient Features Clear (in pure form) 6-sided prism ending in 6-sided pyramid (typical) It has a hardness of seven on the Mohs Scale which makes it very durable.
Silica sand is one of the most common varieties of sand found in the world. It is used for a wide range of applications. Silica sand is used in industrial processing, to make glass, as fill, and to create molds and castings. Silica sand is produced by crushing sand stone or quartzite of open texture, and washing and garding it to yield requisite grain distribution. Silica flour is produced by crushing grinding and washing the high grade quartz, quartzite rocks or from white silica sand. Salient Features Silica Sandstone is moisture free, fritable & hard. Grain size of the particles is variable. Friable & mainly brown to grey in colour.
China Clay or Kaolin is one of the purest form of clays, composed chiefly of the mineral kaolinite, usually formed when granite is changed by hydrothermal metamorphism. Kaolinite is a clay mineral, part of the group of industrial minerals, with the chemical composition Al2Si2O5(OH)4. It is a layered silicate mineral, with one tetrahedral sheet of silica (SiO4) linked through oxygen atoms to one octahedral sheet of alumina (AlO6) octahedra. Kaolinite has a low shrink - swell capacity and a low cation-exchange capacity (1–15 meq/100 g). It is a soft, earthy, usually white mineral (dioctahedral phyllosilicate clay), produced by the chemical weathering of aluminium silicate minerals like feldspar. In many parts of the world, it is colored pink-orange-red by iron oxide, giving it a distinct rust hue. Lighter concentrations yield white, yellow or light orange colors. Commercial grades of kaolin are supplied and transported as dry powder, semi-dry noodle or as liquid slurry. Salient Features Contributes in improving the chemical resistance, electrical properties and reduction in water absorption Lowers the crack tendency in the finished products Improves shock resistance as well as surface quality
Ball Clay is a variety of Kaolinite, like china-clay. It differs from china-clay in having high plasticity and less refractoriness. In chemical composition, ball and china clays do not differ greatly except that the former contains a larger proportion of silica. It has derived its name from the practice of removing it in the form of ball-like lumps from the clay pits in the UK. Ball clays are kaolinitic sedimentary clays that commonly consist of 20-80% kaolinite, 10-25% mica, 6-65% quartz. Localized seams in the same deposit have variations in composition, including the quantity of the major minerals, accessory minerals and carbonaceous materials such as lignite. They are fine-grained and plastic in nature, and, unlike most earthenware clays, produce a fine quality white-coloured pottery body when fired, which is the key to their popularity with potters. Ball clays are relatively scarce deposits due to the combination of geological factors needed for their formation and preservation.
