It has silvery shine throughout the surface. The natural split surface is extremely even. Himachal Green slate / quartzite is also used to make roofing tiles. This is a frost resistant slate / quartzite. The Himachal Green Slate Stones range is characterized with well-marked splittable cleavages with or without developed recrystallization and spots/knots of other minerals. Himachal Green slate / quartzite is compact and less homogenous displaying varying textures and shades.
