COCONUT COIR Its coconut byproduct, It is extracted from the coconut husks. The fibre cells are narrow and hallow and walls made of thick cellulose. The coir fiber is naturally enough elastic without any breaking and it holds a curl as though permanently waved so that they can be utilized for stuffing and puffing of furnitureâ??s. They are used commonly in packing industry to safeguard and protect delicate product since coir fibres are the perfect shock absorbers. There are two types of coir fibre they are: >Brown- Outcome of fully matured coconut. Uses: Curled Coir Rope, coir mattresses, rubberized coir pads, coir cushions, carpet under lays, seat cushions and for insulating drainage pipes and their pads are sprayed with rubber latex. >Yellow or white- outcome of immature green coconut husk. COIR FIBER The Outermost covering of the coconut is called the coconut HUSK. Coir fiber is extracted from the coconut Husk. Coco peat is the by-product obtained during extraction of fiber from Husk. Coir fiber is used for making mats, ropes, Geo-textiles etc. Coir is broadly classified into 2 types. 1. White coir fiber -- Coir extracted from Fresh Green coconut husks. Used for making 2-ply yarn, Ropes etc. 2. Brown coir fiber -- Coir extracted from matured Brown coconut husks. Used for making beds. Coir Fiber Quality 1. Coir fiber is sold in various grades based on application and also how much the client is willing to pay for. 2. First grade fibers either brown or white has only Long length fibres in the range of 10 to 20 cms. Has very less impurities 3. Lower grade fibers are produced by mixing long length fibers with little amount of Short length fibers. This type fibres has more impurities than the 1st Grade.
Coconut Coir Fibre Coconut coir fibre is a 100% natural By-product and echo friendly which is extracted from the outer shell of the coconut fruit and husk. Coconut coir fibre is available in two types, one is brown in colour and the other one is white in colour. Brown colour fiber is obtained from ripe coconut, where as white colour fibre is obtained from the unripe coconut. Generally the coconut coir fibre is used in upholstery, horticulture and in making ropes, twine, floor mat, door mat, geotex, brushes......etc. The coconut fibre is compressed into square and rectanular shapes of bales, weighing from a range of 100 kgs to 1250 kgs as per demand and the bale is winded by iron hoops or plastic strips. In a 40 foot container we can stuff approximately 20 metric tons of coconut coir fibre.
