A flame arrester (also spelled arrestor), deflagration arrester, or flame trap is a device that stops fuel combustion by extinguishing the flame. A flame arrester (also called a deflagration arrester) functions by absorbing the heat from a flame front traveling at sub-sonic velocities, thus dropping the burning gas/air mixture below its auto-ignition temperature: consequently, the flame cannot survive. The heat is absorbed through channels (passages) designed into an element. These channels are chosen and measured as the MESG (Maximum Experimental Safe Gap) of the gas for a particular installation. These passages can be regular, like crimped metal ribbon or wire mesh or a sheet metal plate with punched holes, or irregular, such as those in random packing. Principle Flame arresters are passive devices with no moving parts. They prevent the propagation of flame from the exposed side of the unit to the protected side by the use of metal matrix creating a torturous path called a flame cell or element. All detonation flame arresters operate on the same principle: removing heat from the flame as it attempts to travel through narrow passages with walls of metal or other heat-conductive material, but unlike flame arresters, detonation flame arresters must be built to withstand extreme pressures that travel at supersonic velocities, 1,500 psi (10 MPa) at 2500 m/s is not uncommon with a group D Gas.

When it comes to modern industrial machinery, the rotary screw compressor is one of the most widely used technologies. There are two basic principles of compression in air compressors. One of these is the principle of positive displacement. There are a lot of compressor types that use this method, screw compressors being the most popular. Operating Principles As the name suggests, rotary screw compressors use rotary movements to compress the air. Within the compressor, there is a set of male and female rotors. They will be designed differently so that, when turned in unison, air will become trapped between them. The male rotor has convex lobes and the female rotor has concave cavities; in this way, they can mesh together without touching to achieve compression. Additionally, the male rotor will have slightly less lobes than the female, meaning it will rotate more quickly, effectively driving the female rotor. Unlike piston compressors which use the same principle of compression, the screw element is not equipped with valves. As such, it can work at a high shaft speed and there are no mechanical or volumetric losses to create imbalance. This means that screw technology can combine a large flow rate with a compact, space-saving design.
Metal tube Rotameters are variable area flowmeters for measuring volumetric flow rates of liquids and Gases. The construction includes a tapered stainless-steel tube. A float with a magnet embedded in it, moves inside a tapered tube. The float is magnetically coupled with an indicating pointer assembly. The float position inside the tube is result of balancing of buoyancy and gravitational force. As flow tube is tapered from inside, gap is created between inside wall of tapered tube and the outer diameter of float and fluid flow passes through it. As the float moves vertically up and down inside the tube, the magnetic coupling moves the indicating pointer assembly which is indicates the flow rate. An analog electrical output of 4-20 mA which is proportional to fluid flow rate can be offered in Metal tube Rotameter. A Hall effect sensor senses the position of pair of magnets mounted on shaft assembly. As the analog pointer rotates the output of the Hall effect sensor varies. This output is processed by an electronic circuit to give current output proportional to flow rate. Electrical Transmitter version is available in various versions suitable for applications in safe and hazardous areas.
