Production process by vertical mill
Slag is transported into the plant by truck and stored under the shed. After reclaiming by loader and metering by feeder, the material is delivered and de-ironed into the vertical mill by the belt conveyor and its magnetic separator.
After de-ironing the slag enter the vertical mill for grinding. Dried and grinded slag powder is collected by the separator and sent into the finished product silo by air chute and bucket elevator. The discharged slag is sent back to the mill by conveyor and elevator. The drying heat source is provided by an air heating furnace.
Radiant tube steam superheaters are one of the most important accessories of boiler that improves the thermal efficiency. Application
Reheaters and superheaters are a set of tubes located in the boiler. Steam from the water walls passes to the superheaters where it is heated above its saturation temperature until the maximum required operating temperature is achieved. The superheated steam then flows through the main steam piping to the high-pressure turbine. Exhaust steam from the high-pressure turbine is guided to the boiler for reheating and from there to the intermediate and low-pressure turbines. About 100 ? 200 kg of BOF slag is generated per ton of liquid steel. This material is often used in projects like road construction, but this route provides little energy efficiency gains. Steel slag can also be used in the cement clinker manufacturing process. The result is an increase in clinker production of up to 15% with no net increase in CO2 emissions.
Basic oxygen furnace (BOF) slag has increased skid resistance and high level of strength (described by the impact- and crushing value) compared to natural rocks (e.g. basalt) and thus makes it an ideal aggregate for road constructions and surface layers for high skid resistance. Other fields of application are the production of fertilizers or the use of armour stones for hydraulic engineering.
