Product Information: Above-average ENplus quality! Our pellets are ENplus certified. In terms of abrasion, ash content, fine particles, and heating value, they exceed the minimum requirements of the quality standard. The standard values are intended to ensure high product quality, good heating performance, and a stove-friendly combustion. This way, you can heat energy-efficiently because your stove runs smoothly and you need fewer pellets. The ENplus values in detail: Lower heating value over 4.8 kWh/kg This is the most important value for you, as the higher the lower heating value, the greater the maximum usable amount of heat generated during combustion. The wood pellets we offer have a lower heating value of over 4.8 kWh/kg â?? the ENplus standard requires 4.6 kWh/kg. This value is important because only the lower heating value measures the actual energy content of your pellets! Many manufacturers and retailers indicate the upper heating value on the packaging, which is always higher than the lower heating value but does not provide any information about the actual energy content of the pellets during combustion. Abrasion under 0.6% The ENplus standard for abrasion is 2%, which corresponds to a mechanical strength of 98%. This means: The lower the abrasion, the more stable the pellets. Our offered pellets have an abrasion of 0.6% and a mechanical strength of 99.4%, which is significantly better than the standard. This means that less dust and fine particles are produced during combustion. Ash content less than 0.4% ENplus certified pellets may have an ash content of 0.7%. This refers to the amount of ash that remains after combustion. The ash content of the offered wood pellets is a maximum of 0.4%, making it particularly low and gentle on your stove. Almost dust-free with a fine particle content of 0.05% The bagged product is almost dust-free because it has only a fine particle content of 0.05%. This is well below the ENplus standard upper limit of 0.5%. Fine particles are defined as pellets smaller than 3.15 mm. If this proportion is too high, deposits can form in the stove, affecting heating quality. Optimal moisture content The pellets from Dorr Biomass Farm have a moisture content of 6.9 to 7.1%. This is optimal because a higher moisture content reduces the heating value of the pellets during combustion and produces more soot. The ENplus standard therefore allows a maximum of 10%. If the moisture content is too low, pellets burn too quickly and do not heat efficiently.
