COCONUT COIR Its coconut byproduct, It is extracted from the coconut husks. The fibre cells are narrow and hallow and walls made of thick cellulose. The coir fiber is naturally enough elastic without any breaking and it holds a curl as though permanently waved so that they can be utilized for stuffing and puffing of furnitureâ??s. They are used commonly in packing industry to safeguard and protect delicate product since coir fibres are the perfect shock absorbers. There are two types of coir fibre they are: >Brown- Outcome of fully matured coconut. Uses: Curled Coir Rope, coir mattresses, rubberized coir pads, coir cushions, carpet under lays, seat cushions and for insulating drainage pipes and their pads are sprayed with rubber latex. >Yellow or white- outcome of immature green coconut husk. Uses: mainly in manufacturing of rope, carpets, fishing nets because of strong resilience to salt water. Key facts: >Cost effective >Durable

However, coconut fiber shredded from coconut shell. The moisture content of coconut fiber is 30-45%. The traditional treatments go through 3 to 5 days of natural drying thus wasting excess time and labor. As coconut fiber also experiences long stagnation without water. The material color darkens and the original golden color fades, mildew, and mixed with the silt impurities. It affects the quality of the product. Dingli company research and development the coconut fiber dryers, direct docking coconut fiber separator, dry shredded coconut, coconut chaff sorting, desalting and dewatering and drying a complete process within 40 minutes. COIR FIBER The Outermost covering of the coconut is called the coconut HUSK. Coir fiber is extracted from the coconut Husk. Coco peat is the by-product obtained during extraction of fiber from Husk. Coir fiber is used for making mats, ropes, Geo-textiles etc. Coir is broadly classified into 2 types. 1. White coir fiber -- Coir extracted from Fresh Green coconut husks. Used for making 2-ply yarn, Ropes etc. 2. Brown coir fiber -- Coir extracted from matured Brown coconut husks. Used for making beds. Coir Fiber Quality 1. Coir fiber is sold in various grades based on application and also how much the client is willing to pay for. 2. First grade fibers either brown or white has only Long length fibres in the range of 10 to 20 cms. Has very less impurities 3. Lower grade fibers are produced by mixing long length fibers with little amount of Short length fibers. This type fibres has more impurities than the 1st Grade.
Sisal fibre is derived from the leaves of the plant. It is usually obtained by machine decortications in which the leaf is crushed between rollers and then mechanically scraped. The fibre is then washed and dried by mechanical or natural means. The dried fibre represents only 4% of the total weight of the leaf. Once it is dried the fibre is mechanically double brushed. The lustrous strands, usually creamy white, average from 80 to 120 cm in length and 0.2 to 0.4 mm in diameter Sisal fibre is fairly coarse and inflexible. It is valued for cordage use because of its strength, durability, ability to stretch, affinity for certain dyestuffs, and resistance to deterioration in saltwater. Sisal is used by industry in three grades: The lower grade fibre is processed by the paper industry because of its high content of cellulose and hemicelluloses. The medium grade fibre is used in the cordage industry for making: ropes, baler and binders twine. Ropes and twines are widely employed for marine, agricultural, and general industrial use. The higher-grade fibre after treatment is converted into yarns and used by the carpet industry. The fibre is also used for non-woven matting, brushing and roving.
