Bitumen is widely used in construction of asphalt roads and bituminous membrane products. Bitumen is also used for surfacing airfield runways and air strips (PMB is preferred due to its fuel resistant properties) and taxi ways. For the Marine construction industry bitumen is used for hydraulic applications such as canal lining, underwater tunnels, river bank protection, dam construction and sea defenses. There are also numerous industrial applications like roofing felt material, printing inks, packaging paper, linoleum, electrical cable / Junction box insulation, mastic for roofing of terraces, and duplex paper manufacture. Bitumen known as asphalt in parts of the world, is a hydrocarbon material. It has high viscosity and colloidal structure, and black to dark brown color. It's dissolvable in carbon disulfide and carbon tetrachloride.
It is impenetrable to moisture and water, electrical insulation, elasticity, moderate resistance against acids, bases and salts. Its adhesions to other materials are the most important features of bitumen.
Bitumen 60/70 is used for road construction projects in temperate regions. It can be used to produce some of the basic layers of asphalt and insulation.

Polymer modified bitumen PMB 60 (PG 76-28, PG 70-28) is supplied in
Clovertainers. This is a modern packaging with a number of advantages compared to it's
alternatives:
Capacity- 1000 litres.
This is a single-use packaging that is more effective than traditional types of containers such
as IBC containers, plastic and metal drums.
The container has a specially designed rigid frame that ensures the safety of the cargo during
transportation and storage, and after unloading the product it allows the container construction
to fold.
The waterproof, weatherproof polypropylene laminated cover allows you to store the
container outdoors without any damage.
A filled container takes 20% less storage space than round containers.
One of the main and most important advantages of this type of packaging is that when
unpacking you get 100% of the product that is filled into there. Unlike steel barrels- when the
bitumen inside it is heated and forced out, usually there is left from 3% to 10% of the product.
This point gets especially important when it comes to supplying big lots of the product- the % of the waste is too big and affects the total price of the product.
Unlike the steel barrels, the type of packaging that we offer does not require any special utilization which is important in reducing costs - you will not need to transport it to the utilization place after unpacking the product and pay any other additional costs concerning

In 2011, in the Orinoco Belt, a pilot project for alternating steam injection was started to improve the viscosity of crude oil, a technique that has increased the recovery rate to 40 percent, which was previously 20%.
