Vegetable any herbaceous plant whose fruit, seeds, roots, tubers, bulbs, leaves etc are used as food. Nearly 100 different types of vegetable comprising both local and exotic type are grown in Bangladesh (table). Vegetable is important for nutritional, financial, and food security in Bangladesh. However, the availability of vegetable is only about 1/5th of the recommended requirement of 200 g/person/day. Area and production The area under vegetable farming increased from about 1,71,830 ha to about 1,95,951 ha during 1990-1997. Likewise, the production of vegetable also increased from about 1.09 million m tons to about 1.29 million m tons during that period. However, summer vegetable cultivation is constrained by adverse climate and pest attacks. The major winter vegetables are cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, brinjal, radish, hyacinth bean, bottle gourd, etc while major summer vegetables are pumpkin, bitter gourd, teasle gourd, ribbed gourd, ash gourd, okra, yard-long bean, and Indian spinach among others. Some vegetables like brinjal, pumpkin, okra, and red amaranth are found to grow in both the seasons.

present study is an attempt to examine the present situation of Bangladesh poultry industry and its future potential. In Bangladesh commercial poultry production has been growing rapidly since the early 1990 by using improved genetics, manufactured feeds and management. This improvement is done mainly in the private sector as a device for additional source of income and employment opportunities particularly in rural area. This dramatic growth of poultry farms throughout the country without judging feasibility of the farm in the area. This process has been influenced by the programmers of different NGOs and the public sector. The poultry sector of the country is classified neither as an agricultural sector nor an industrial sector, receives far less support than its potential contribution might indicate. Based on this poultry industry a number of industries are developed both in inputs sector and outputs sector along with a number of service providing organizations where at least 60 lakh people are involved. The poultry industry was hit by bird flu in 2007 and 2009. The number of firms reduced to 55,000 in 2013 from 1,15,000 in 2007. Another source reported that there are about 65,902 poultry farms up to February 1013 in the country (BER,2013p.104). In spite of decrease in number of poultry farms, it is reported by Bangladesh Poultry Association that that the country achieved self sufficiency in production of chicken meat and eggs. So the problem is excess supply of chicken meat and egg in the market.. The major challenges to poultry sector are limited access to credit, competition from import and outbreak of diseases like Avian Influenza. In addition there are other problems which hinder the proper development of poultry industry. Production of quality and safe product in compliance with international standard of hygiene, sanitation and phytosanitary is an important issue. For sustainable development of poultry sector some specific recommendations (establishment of effective data bank, formation of poultry farmers’ organization etc) are made for consideration by the concerned stakeholders of this industry.

Dragon Well Green Tea, derived from leaves of the plant Camellia sinensis, is the most widely consumed beverage in the world the same one that produces Silver Needle White, Golden Eyebrow Black Tea and Olong tea. Dragon Well Green Tea has originated from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, China. Usually, the buds and the first two to three leaves are plucked by hand by tea plucker for processing. This process is generally repeated every one to two weeks. These basic types of tea have different quality characteristics, including appearance, flavor, taste, and color. Dragon Well Green tea leaves are roasted early in processing to stop the natural oxidation process. The actions of these enzymes are stopped by "firing" (heating in pans) or by steaming the leaves before they completely dry out. Dragon Well Green Tea leaves are minimally oxidized. When steeped for long, the tea presents a yellow-green color. The tea contains vitamin C, amino acids, and, like most finer Chinese green teas, has one of the maximum concentrations of catechins among tea. Dragon Well green tea is a variety of pan-fried green teas that has a distinctive emerald-green and perfectly flattened shape along the inside vein of the leaf. When brewed, it produces a bright light golden liquor with a slight vegetal aroma. The balanced flavors are a little vegetal with a mouthwatering liquor that has a minimum astringent taste and pleasant finish. There are further notes of peppery capsicum and dandelions, directing to the whole impression of a fresh vegetal character. The presence of high level of antioxidants and caffeine components aids to the cholesterol maintenance, weight reduction, anti-aging and even fighting with cancer. We are proud to announce that, for the first time in Bangladesh Halda Valley produced the Dragon Well variant Green Tea. It all started with a friendly visit of Mr. Qiu Xueting, a well reputed and highly experienced Chinese Tea master in 2014. We not only produce 1000+ Kilo of special variety, but exported them all to Mainland China and recently in Kuwait which is ultimately a Big Milestone in the history of Bangladesh Tea Industry.
