The PVC battery separator was developed for the first time in India under the brand name Microtex with their own know how and with indigenously designed machinery 41 years ago. The plant and machinery comprise sintering machines and other electrical installations, with own captive power generators, for the smooth and automatic production of over a hundred million separators per annual, the largest and most renowned manufacturers of PVC separators in India.
PVC battery separators are micro porous diaphragms placed between the negative and positive plates of lead acid batteries to prevent any contact between them to avoid internal short circuit but at the same time allow free circulation of the electrolyte. Microtex PVC separator are uniform in quality, free from holes, broken corners, splits, embedded foreign material, surface rupture, physical defects, etc
Characteristics:
Microtex PVC separators have a very low electrical resistance which reduces internal loss saving on electric energy and improving battery performance. Their high porosity ensures easy diffusion of electrolyte and movement of ions guaranteeing battery performance even at high discharge rates. Being completely non reactive to acids, active metals and emitted gases, Microtex PVC separators enhance the active life of the battery.
PVC separators surpass IS specifications IS 6071:1986 and have been tested and certified by the Central Electro Chemical Research Institute, CSIR, Chennai to be within IS specifications
Microtex PVC separators are manufactured in both standard and custom sizes for automotive and industrial battery application. Every separator produced is visually inspected before being packed. Constructional Features:
Each traction cell is assembled in a high grade plastic container
The container containing high performance tubular positive and pasted negative plates. The positive and negative plates are separated by high-quality PE Separators
The tubular positive plates have specially designed spines, cast from corrosion resistant lead-antimony-selenium alloy ensconced in the tubular bag which is Vibro-filled
The pasted negative plates made up from a blend of oxide, special additives and expanded, aid in cell longevity
The high-quality PE separators provide high electrical insulation between the plates with low internal resistance for improved battery performance
The high-grade plastic containers are non-reactive to acid, temperature and the gases emitted by the cell
Short-circuit between plates due to sediments is avoided by the use of a prismatic sediment spacer placed at the bottom of the plastic container on which the plates rest
The splash-proof vent plugs prevent the escape of electrolyte. The hard rubber top cover gives a perfect air-tight sealing to the cell

The cells assembled in molded monoblock hard rubber containers are connected with welded joints made of lead alloy with an anti-corrosive coating. Water loss and maintenance is minimum delivers consistent reliable power. Microtex lead acid EMU batteries are manufactured by Mysore Thermo Electric Private Limited.
Microtex EMU Battery is made up of 5 cells of 2 Volts each. The cells assembled in Molded Monoblock Hard Rubber containers are connected with welded joints made of lead alloy with an anti-corrosive coating. The Microporous Vent Plugs fitted to the cells prevent the spilling of the electrolyte.
